September 30 - November 27 -- "Natures Influence" Susan Bradley & Mari Skarp. Bradley will be exhibiting some pieces from "The Honey Bee & Its Culture" collection, as well as new pieces. Skarp is an artist who creates sculptural work involving concepts of disappearing farmland and loss of memory. Opening Artist Reception, October 15th, 5pm - 7 pm. October 1, 5 - 7 pm -- Launch party and book signing for "Robert Kipniss: A Working Artists Life". Kipniss' new book is the rarest of literary achievements: a personal memoir, cultural history, and textbook of craft and market. With engaging candor Kipniss spices his narrative with vivid characters, family, friends, artists,and dealers who are as varied and complex as they are meaningful in his career. October 4 -- Harlem Valley Chamber meeting. Jack's Auto Service,Route 22 (south of the Metro North Station) Amenia, 5:30 pm.  Networking Night -- Join us for an evening of networking. Jack & Linda Gregory are hosting the meeting to bring awareness to breast cancer and care car. There will be drinks & hors d'oeuvres. Please come out and support two great causes! October 7 - November 27. Opening Artist Reception, October 8, 5 pm - 7pm -- "Abstract Visions from Italy" Eduardo Giannattasio. Giannattasio lives and works in a 13th century palazzo in Italy. His paintings have been shown throughout Europe, and are the result of a technique the artist perfected in his studio that celebrates and honors a source of light and warmth used for ages --- fire. October 16 -- Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk - American Cancer Society.  This year marks the 16th Anniversary of the Hudson Valley Region's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event which will take place on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at:  Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, Central Valley, NY & Dutchess Stadium, Wappingers Falls, NY.  The walk is a 5K non-competitive walk with two sites to choose from! Registration starts at 7:30AM and walks start promptly at 9:00AM. Last year, over 10,000 participants attended this walk raising $802,000 in the fight against breast cancer!
